I got everything to talk, pull the VIN all that stuff, but only on the default profile (after setting the options listed in the common DIY). If so how do I find out what all settings in need to match these existing profiles? Or is there a way to have these older profiles work with the new NCS expert? I finally got a version of NCS Expert that works on windows 8. How important are these profiles? Couldn't I create a new profile with the same settings? When I try to load the other profiles (like expertmode or Revtor's profile) I get an error that says 'Profilversion2.0 ungultig!' Some older threads this may be because these profiles are from an earlier and incompatible version than the version of NCS I'm using now. I haven't attempted to write anything to the car yet because I'm unsure how important the profiles are. I finally got a version of NCS Expert that works on windows 8. What's the best way to uninstall everying and start again? THis is frustrating stuff! If anyone has seen a guide or has done it themselves on Win 7 圆4, I would love some clear instructions. I think that it copied an older NCSExpert exe files because after I did that and tried to open NCSExpert I got a compatiblity error (32/64bit).Įnded up trying to reinstall NCSExpert on top of existing stuff with bmw standard tools but now I get all kinds of errors. Thought it may be due to not copying all the files from the second directory over to the installs (only copied missing ones initially), so I copied them all again, and used BMW COding tool to load SP Daten again. Then I tried got a COAPI error when trying to access CAS (after reading VIN) on NCS Expert. Quick update, I loaded the profiles, that worked fine.

When I get home I will try the following: overwrite all files in those three folders with the folders specified in Step 2, then go through the daten update again (to make sure the files i overwrite again are correct?).
